Seniors in the Global Studies program complete a year-long capstone project exploring a global issue of their choice, which results in a thesis paper and a presentation to the community and the public. My topic will be about healthcare in prison systems in the United States, Russia, and Scandinavia. I will research and discuss access to drug rehabilitation, mental health services, and physical care in each country.  This also includes how each country structures access to healthcare while incarcerated, and how treatment is paid for. This will help me gain valuable insight into global healthcare experiences and learn more about U.S and foreign prisons.
